Facebook: Updates to how Videos are Ranking

Getting your videos viral is always a tough task, but now Facebook updated us on how they rank videos and the recent updates to the algorithm.

The changes are:

  1. Loyalty & Intent – Facebook will now distribute videos to news feeds of people who seek out and return to every week.
  2. Video & Viewing Duration – Facebook has always said that the longer people watch your video, the more probability of it being distributed to a larger audience. they are now putting weight into ranking videos that people watch for at least a minute, and that are longer than 3 minutes.
  3. Originality – Facebook will now help original content creators as this is the most valued content. Facebook will limit the distribution of unoriginal and repurposed content.
